Janice Northerns grew up on a farm in rural West Texas and holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Tech University. After teaching college and high school English for many years, she now writes full-time. She currently lives in Wichita, Kansas, with her husband, Bill McGlothing. Janice's debut poetry collection, Some Electric Hum (LULP, 2020), was honored with several awards, and her 2025 chapbook Men & Angels was a semi-finalist in Iron Horse Literary Reveiw's chapbook competiton.  Northerns' work has been published widely in journals such as Ploughshares, descant, The Laurel Review, Southwestern American Literature, Iron Horse Literary Review, and elsewhere. Her writing has been nominated for both the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net awards.
